Effectively Impacting the Consumer Through Digital Media
Hello everyone! I decided to choose The Voice: Integration With Live Television as my example for this blog post. There was a lot done to meet the needs of the selected target audience with this television show. The producers were able to successfully interact and engage with the audience by encouraging fans to send out tweets to vote who they wanted to save from elimination and the results would then be posted on the show.
The show also did an excellent job of engaging by also incorporating the use of vines and showcasing various different twitter conversations between talent. All of this combined increased engagement and improved the consumer's experience at the same time. This is what led to The Voice having over 23 seasons with a budget of $2.3 million per episode. The show would also try and interact with fans as much as they could throughout seasons. They would consistently use hashtags on Twitter which would generate content honed specifically for them.
The Voice did an excellent job of managing all of their social media platforms by simultaneously engaging with fans. They had the most amount of followers on Twitter of any entertainment series on TV, most likes out of any reality series on Facebook, most subscribers of any reality series on YouTube, and had the most followers on Vine of any reality series. So not only did they captivate their viewers through the show they would also do an excellent job of social outreach and marketing through various social media outlets.
I believe that The Voice was ahead of its time and did an excellent job when it came to honing in their viewer's experience. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would've kept viewers more engaged as they were quite literally using the reactions of viewers to dictate the performance of certain artists on the show.
So far The Voice has remained consistent with Season 24 airing fall 2023. They are doing an excellent job of keeping fans up-to-date on their social media outlets. They rank #33 out of all TV shows in terms of engagement ranking and rank #2 out of all of NBC's tops shows. The voice does have a mobile app which helps consumers vote on certain contests and keep track of the artists. The app also has links to previous episodes and certain performances. Although they've been on air for quite a while they're still doing a fantastic job of keeping up consumer engagement and outreach.
